Advocacy

Issues of discrimination – particularly in employment - and access to adequate, non-judgemental and appropriate health services continue to impact on people living with hepatitis C. Providing basic advice to groups and individuals on these matters, and referral to other organisations if necessary, is an important and expanding aspect of our work at Hepatitis C Victoria.

Hepatitis C Victoria also provides advice, feedback, and expertise to Government, research organisations, reference and advisory groups, and other influential bodies on matters relating to hepatitis C, hepatitis C education, and the hepatitis C affected community. Our aims in contributing to these forums are to prevent further incidence of transmission and to advocate on behalf of those currently affected by hepatitis C.
