Volunteering
Becoming a Volunteer
Volunteers from all walks of life, with their many valuable skills, are an important part of Hepatitis Victoria.
They include medical professionals and business people who freely give their time to sit on our Board, or they are one of the people who help out when they can with general projects at Hepatitis Victoria.
One of the easiest ways to support the work of Hepatitis Victoria is to volunteer some of your time. There are many ways to help including:
- Word processing, data entry and updating contacts
- Mail outs
- Helping with our resource library
- Special project support
- Special events such as Hepatitis Awareness Day
- Public speaking
Public Speaking
People with hepatitis C or B who are interested in sharing their story can undertake the Public Speakers Bureau training. This is an introduction to the basic skills of public speaking and will enable participants to develop their skills in public speaking, and how to plan and structure a presentation. Once trained, people can present their personal perspectives at events that include: hepatitis related education and training, conferences, government meetings and respond to media requests with ongoing support from Hepatitis Victoria.
There are many opportunities at Hepatitis Victoria for volunteers to develop existing or new skills. To find out more about being a volunteer for Hepatitis Victoria call the Hepatitis Infoline on 1800 703 003 or email us.
